Tasmania is Australia‘s only island state boasting endemic wildlife and unique cultural and wilderness experiences. A trip to the Cradle Coast region, also home to the iconic Cradle Mountain, begins with getting to our beautiful island state.

Plane

If you’re arriving to the Cradle Coast by plane, you can either fly QantasLink into Devonport or Regional Express into Burnie. Both options are direct from Melbourne Airport and both flights are just over an hour. If you’re traveling to King Island, you can take Sharp Airlines from Burnie, or Regional Express, Sharp, or King Island Airlines from Melbourne.

Boat

Taking the Spirit of Tasmania from Port Melbourne to Devonport is a unique journey in and of itself. Enjoy resting in a cabin and activities on board, arriving nine hours later in Tasmania. It’s the perfect option if you are wanting to to have the flexibility of your own car while visiting.

Car

If you’re coming from one of the other regions intrastate, we’re only a short journey by car! From Launceston we’re an hour down the road on the A1, and from Hobart you have two options – come up towards Launceston on the Midlands Highway (which takes approximately 4 hours) or venture into the heart of West Coast on the A10.
